Samburu County Deputy Governor Julius Leseeto is in mourning after his beloved wife Linah Leseeto lost her life on January 10, 2020, after a short illness.
Governor Leseeto told media that Mrs Linah Leseeto was being treated for a lung problem.
“She had been battling with what was thought to be pneumonia but it was later discovered to be a connective lung tissue problem. She had been in the ICU for about 16 days,” he said on Saturday.
Samburu Governor Moses Lenolkulal took to Facebook to announce the sad news.
“It is with profound sadness and sorrow that I have received the news of the passing on of H.E Linah Leseeto, wife to the Deputy Governor, H.E Julius Leseeto,” Lenolkulal wrote.
He also sent a message of condolence on behalf of his family and the entire Samburu County.
“On my behalf, on behalf of my family and the entire County Government of Samburu, I wish to convey my sincere condolences to the family. I pray that the Almighty God grant solace and fortitude to the family during this difficult time. May her soul Rest in Peace,” Lenolkulal added.
Deputy Governor Leseeto has been the acting Governor of Samburu following a court order that barred Lenolkulal from accessing his office. Lenolkulal was charged with abuse of office and corruption among other economic crimes.
His appeal to access his office was rejected by a court of law alongside the troubled Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu.
Lenolkulal’s case is pending hearing.
