A day after teachers were ordered to return back to schools on Monday following a meeting among stakeholders at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development to map out the reopening of learning institutions, the new school curriculum calendar has leaked.
“It is about time to call our children to go back to schools. Teachers will be coming to prepare schools for reopening,” said Prof Magoha.
here is the proposed return to school calendar, which will be agreed on and declared by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
2nd term: 19th October 2020 to 18th December 2020
(2 weeks break)
3rd term: 5th January 2021 to 2nd April 2021
(April 2021, KCPE & KCSE)
(May 2021, Marking and Release)
1st term: June 2021 to August 2021
(September 2021, break)
2nd term: October 2021 to November 2021
(December 2021, break)
Yesterday, Teachers Service Commission (TSC) CEO Nancy Macharia Monday said that teachers have until Monday, September 28, 2020, to be in their respective schools.
“It is now time for teachers to report back to schools. We are asking teachers to continue being creative and innovative. Therefore, all teachers must report by the latest Monday next week,” Mrs. Macharia said.
