Police have been accused of plotting a cover-up after Nancy Njeri, a police officer based at Wote Police Station, was nabbed and arraigned in court after she chopped off Lawyer’s hands.

In a shocking twist of events, the Police is trying to fix a narrative that the murder suspect used a machete in her difference.

Currently,  lawyer Onesmus Masaku is nursing serious panga cut injuries after a being attacked by a lady in uniform.

Activists were spotted at Wote Police Station pushing to record statement. They claimed that the police were trying to cover up the matter to protect their colleague.

Law Society of Kenya President (LSK) Nelson Havi echoed their sentiments and refuted earlier claims that the lawyer had tried to rape Njeri.

“Police in Makueni are complicit in the attempted murder of Lawyer Onesmus Masaku by Policewoman Nancy Nyeri. The two are known lovers and Njeri attempted to kill him after he refused to accede to her demands for marriage. Nancy Njeri should be arrested and charged,” he said on Twitter.

The lawyer was admitted at the Kenyatta Hospital in Nairobi and said to be in critical condition.

A police report seen by Kenyan Bulletin had indicated that the lawyer had allegedly invited Nancy Njeri to his house on the premise that he wanted to introduce his girlfriend.

According to the Police, it is alleged that the lawyer tried to rape the officer and that is why she chopped off his hands as she was trying to defend herself.

Activist have however rubbished that narrative stating that the accused had self inflicted injuries that were being touted as injuries she sustained in the scuffle.

The police records indicate that she,  Nancy Njeri, was taken to Makueni Referral Hospital where she was allegedly treated and discharged.
