The death toll from Monday’s Naivasha road accident has risen to six after the last survivor died in hospital while undergoing treatment.
This is afte reports that the six victims were members of the same family who were travelling to Naivasha for the burial of their relative.aThe acciden occurred along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway after their car was hit head-on by a truck killing five of the occupants including a bay on the spot.
The driver escaped the crash with serious injuries and was taken to the nearby Naivasha Sub-county Hospital where he later died.
Martin, a relative, saidthe six were travelling from Njoro to Naivasha on Monday to attend a relative’s burial set for Tuesday. He added that he lost his sister and two nieces, cousins and a grandchild.
Naivasha Deputy OCPD John Kwasa stated that the driver car was overtaking a long queue of vehicles and that is when his car was hit by the two trucks.
