Former Arsenal talisman Thierry Henry and Former Newcastle and Blackburn striker Allan Shearer have been named as the first players in the Premier League Hall of Fame.
The ineagural Priemer League Hall of Fame is the highest honour to be awarded to players who have plied their trades in the English premier league since it started in 1992. The two legends Henry and Shearer have become the first players to be honoured by the fete.
Allan Shearer is the premier league’s leading scorer with a total of 260 goals scored during his 14 seasons in the league. He became the first players to score 100 goals when he helped Blackburn win the league title in the 1994/95 season. This he was able to repeat following his transfer to Newcastle where he became the first and only player s far to score more than 100 goals for more than one club in the premier league.
Arsenal’s legend Thierry Henry is a record four-times winner of the premier league golden boot. He is Arsenal’s reading goal scorer with 175 goals in 258 appearances. He was part of the Arsenal’s Invincible side which won the league unbeaten in the 2003/04 season.
Both players are in deed deserving of the recognition being the premier leagues best scorers over the years.

A shortlist of 23 players to be nominated to the hall of fame is also available. It is said that football fans will be allowed to vote to help choose 6 nominees.
