Two men arrested in Kilimani with Ksh700m in fake currency

Two men were last night arrested in Kilimani after they were found in possession of fake currencies worth about Ksh700 million.

The men identified as Samuel Maina and Boniface Mungai were arrested from an apartment in Kilimani area where they had kept the fake papers in Kenyan, US and Euro denomination.

The money was kept in metal boxes.

Police say they recovered chemicals and fake stickers bearing names of UN, Dela Rue and National Treasury and several safes.

Police suspect the men were planning to con unsuspecting customer and have warned against handling fake currencies.

The two are expected in court this morning to face charges of handling fake money.
