President Uhuru Kenyatta has received the Building Bridges Initiative task force report at State House, Nairobi.

Among other leaders present was Deputy President William Ruto, Opposition chief Raila Odinga and members of the taskforce led by their Chairman Senator Yusuf Haji.

The report is the culmination of over one year of the taskforce team collecting views on healing the nation, curing divisive politics and fostering cohesion in the country.

It is also a product of the handshake deal between the president and the opposition leader at the steps of Harambee House on the March 9, 2018.

The handshake deal was preceded by months of violent chaos where the opposition chief contested the 2017 presidential election results successfully but boycotted the repeat elections on account it was designed to be rigged.

Odinga would stage a mock swearing in ceremony of himself as the people’s president at Uhuru Park even before the unveiling of the report, opinion is varied among leaders.

The report will be publicly unveiled on Wednesday at the Bomas of Kenya.
