Jubilee Party‘s National Executive Council (NEC) will next week unseal their verdict on five Jubilee senators who snubbed a meeting convened by President Uhuru Kenyatta in May.
According to sources privy to State House operations, President Uhuru’s hammer/axe is just about to fall on Nominated Senators Millicent Omanga, Mary Seneta Yiane, Falhada Dekow Iman, Naomi Jillo Waqo and Alice Milgo.
The five absconded the State House meeting called by Uhuru to ratify the removal of Deputy President William Ruto’s allies, the Majority leader Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and his then majority whip Senator Susan Kihika.
In the meeting, Ruto’s ally Senator Kipchumba Murkomen was ejected and replaced by KANU’s West Pokot Senator Samuel Poghisio while Senator Irungu Kang’ata was installed as a replacement of Sen Susan Kihika.
A National Executive Council (NEC) will endorse an indictment meted on them by a disciplinary committee which sat down to probe their conduct following show-cause letters by Party Chairman Nelson Dzuya.
“When the NEC meet, they will look at the report, deliberate on it and either adopt, moderate or reject it. It is the party leader who will invite NEC at his pleasure. In the meantime, we will continue waiting” Jubilee Vice Chairman David Murathe told The Standard yesterday.
Jubilee’s Party Chairman Nelson Dzuya declined to respond on the matter. However, he confirmed that the report was ready and awaiting NEC to meet and decide.
“Once the party leader calls a meeting, we will meet and decide the fate of the five nominated Senators,” Dzuya said.
The Jubilee Party Disciplinary Committee chaired by Lumatete Muchai concluded their hearings on show-cause submissions by five senators two months ago. The report was handed over to the party leader in late June as a top party secret for his consideration and guidance.
The matter has been kept under the shelve since then with those senators that feel threatened rededicated themselves to the party.
DP Ruto’s diehards keep marching on and they clearly have moved on and continued their political association with now deserted number two.
“The senators committed no crime at all. They should have no disciplinary action in the first place unless the party decides to go wayward. It should not consider the report at all,” Jubilee Deputy Secretary-General and Ruto’s ally Caleb Kositany said yesterday.
The removal of former National Assembly Majority leader Aden Duale, Chief Whip Ben Washiali, Sen Murkomen and Sen Kihika from NEC has left DP Ruto on his knees.
The four were replaced by Kipipiri MP Amos Kimunya (Majority leader) his Igembe North MP Maoka Maore (Majority whip) and Kang’ata all who are tilted in favour of President Kenyatta.
President Uhuru who has politically fallen out with his deputy, William Ruto is trying every option to tame DP with all the changes he oversaw in the National assembly and the Senate proving that his Deputy is a step ahead or seems like he has a plan for every probable option on the president’s table.
Ruto who was seen to have slightly higher numbers at the NEC has switched to “hustling” and his close ally have been warned not to insult the President as before. Ruto is counter-attacking the President’s moves and options with a ‘political silence.’
Argentine Marxist revolutionary Ernesto Che Guevera said SILENCE IS AN ARGUMENT CARRIED OUT BY OTHER MEANS and clearly, you can’t say William Ruto is not doing politic; and for those who don’t know, SILENCE is a political statement.
