Agnes Kagure! Not much can be said about this daring woman other than loads of allegations on so many land grabbing cases and illegal acquisition and personalization of private property.
That is exactly what happens behind the scenes and when she appears before the media, she will paint herself as a saviour of Nairobians flowimg with the fact that she lost Jubilee nomination to Mike Sonko for Nairobi’s top seat in 2017.
After the loss she would then jumped to be patron for a nonexistent Kenya university students organizations which granted her some few antics with the media and access to the political class.
Ms Kagire used the nonexistent position to meet former prime minister Raila Odinga, other political brokers and now she believes she can be anything in the city including the Governor im the oncoming 2022 ballot battle.
On her soft spot to land grabbing, Ms Kagure allegedly forged documents to a property belonging to Roger Bryan Robson of Robson estate and claimed to have purchased it at Ksh 100 million in cash.
Roger Bryan Robson died in 2012.
Despite the court barring her from laying claim on the property by Justice Gitumbi, Ms Kagure went ahead and grabbed it.
“An injunction is issued barring Agnes kagure and her agents from laying claim, encroaching, trespassing or dealing with the land in the applicant’s possession…” stated Justice Gitumbi.
The DPP later withdrew her case citing lack of evidence as the cause of the case withdrawal.
Since December 2014 the property has been occupied by Ms Kariuki’s men and Mr Elms and his wife have been held at gunpoint threatened them with imprisonment for 17 years for allegedly forging the will.
“Around 18 months ago I was told in no uncertain terms to give up the land and the fight and that if I didn’t their contacts, which are high up in the CID and DPP, would make sure I was arrested and jailed for 17 years,” Mr Elms said in a statement.
In yet another revelation Ms Kagure allegedly belongs to a group of land cartel with networks at Ardhi House who identifies elderly, preferably single, whites living in affluent suburbs.
They then design specific schemes to inherit the land, by-passing any wills and frustrating appointed executors.
In some cases, they use existing occupants, such as long-serving servants, to claim “squatter rights.”
In other instances, they use prominent business people and well-connected individuals to do the legwork.
Still on Roger Bryan Robson’s property, Leonard Omwenga, Meshack Masese and Sammy Lotasa went to court in March 2011 to claim the Robson land, alleging they had lived on it since 1995.
They alleged Robson had left the country that year and never returned.
It flooped and so they brew another plot, this time Martin Waluchio and Friedrich Pietz, lodged their a new claim.
Pietz claimed he bought the land in 1994 for Sh30 million. They could not explain why they had waited 12 years to transfer the land. Their claim was as well dismissed.
This is where Ms Kagure herself came in, Agnes claims she bought the land from Robson for Sh100 million in 2011.
She allegedly paid in cash, in clear contravention of Central Bank of Kenya regulations that demand any transaction above Sh1 million must be paid through a bank transfer.
Agnes would later produce a sale document to support her alleged purchase. Agnes presented a handwritten receipt for the alleged sale.
Lawyer Michael Sakwa Osundwa claimed he drew up a sale agreement between Agnes and Robson in November 2011 to back it Peter Mburu, an official at the lands registry, claimed he oversaw the land transfer.
Ms Kagure later used proxies to lay claim on the Uppet Hill property, Peter Gaitho and Thomas Murima claimed they had bought the land through share transfer, totalling Sh193,740, from Robson and his mother Betty in 2010.
Betty died in 1993.
They presented forged company records (CR12 CI384), dated April 30, 2015, to prove ownership.
Thomas Mutaha’s claims he is the director of Plovers Haunt limited after he was given for free all shares in the said company.
In another land grabbing case, one Joel Munene moved to court seeking a temporary injunction to restrain Kagure or her agents from entering, occupying, trespassing, selling or in any other way interfering with the property known as Nairobi Block 83/1903.
