Wiper: We are not losing grip, we are still waving

Former VP and two time Raila’s running Kalonzo Musyoka knows its no longer a secret that he is playing small. His party Wiper just lost a ward by election in his backyard.

His guy Stephen Kithuka was beaten by Musee Mati of Maendeleo Chap Chap. Maendeleo Chap Chap belongs to the sweet spoken Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua.

Dr Mutua is a fresh blood governor routing to take over the Kamba politics. In his view Kalonzo is a spent cartridge. He’s used up and finished. Beating Kalonzo in a by election is a reason enough to chest thump.

It is what it is, MCC just beat WDM in a battle, in a turf they have dominated for a decade and a half. That was against the odds and MCC can take pride in shaking grounds.

His governor in Taita Taveta, Grandson Samboja is hanging on lose strings. He is facing impeachment and that is a place they can easily lose to ODM, their big brother in NASA.

Kalonzo regrets working with Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana, who has the bragging rights as the best performing governor. He is losing in Makueni too, just because Prof. Kibwana has shown interest in presidency.

He now thinks that the merger between Muungano Party and Wiper ahead of 2017 polls was a mistake. He consoles himself like that and backs it by the number of foes returning to his party.

Yes they are returning in numbers but he must bear in mind that most of these fellows were rejected in the previous polls. Former Kilome Mp Regina Ndambuki, Former Mbooni Mp Kioi Munyao, Former Kibwezi Mp Philip Munyao, Former Wiper Whip Jackson Ngovi, Former speaker Stephen Ngelu among others.

His key ally, former Machakos senator, Johnstone Muthama has told him to his face that he is ‘finished’. Muthama feels ODM leader Raila Odinga is the man to beat. Where is Wiper, Is it losing grip?
