KCB coach Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno says he can’t wait for the FKF Premier League to resume.

This comes barely two days after President Uhuru Kenyatta gave the green light for sporting activities to resume in adherence with the Covid-19 protocols as directed by the Ministries of Sports and Health.

The league was suspended for the second time on March 26 due to the surge in coronavirus infections. By the time of suspension, the bankers were second on the log with 30 points, six behind league leaders Tusker.

And the former Kenyan international has credited KCB’s perfect mix of youth and experience for their impressive form.

“There are four secrets that are making us great this season. First, we signed quality players. Secondly, we set targets and are achieving them. We have a good technical bench and lastly our sponsors are amazing,” said Zico.

“I see no reason to bolster the team in the second leg. Everything is working out perfectly, if there is a need to do so then the technical bench will decide. But honestly, I’ve missed the players, the dugouts, the pitches, the physical training. I cannot wait to resume the league.”

To prove his players’ quality, seven of them have so far earned call ups to the national team, Harambee Stars, this season.

“We are just hoping that more players will keep on working hard to earn call ups to the Harambee Stars.”
