Former nominated senator and Kasarani MP Elizabeth Ongoro has presented herself at the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)headquarters to be interrogated over embezzlement of Sh48 million NG-CDF cash meant for a girls’ school.
The loud politician was summoned alongside other 18 suspects alleged to have been involved in the mismanagement of the cash.
EACC CEO Twalib Mbarak had hinted through a statement in the media that the anti-corruption detectives were probing the former law maker and her accomplices.
EACC found out that the award of the contract for the construction of the school project was made without due regard to the stipulated laws guarding procurement.
EACC also established that thealleged school does not exist and payments were made to different accounts and companies associated to the NG-CDF patron and committee members for services that were never rendered.
