Over 50 passengers escape death from a burning bus

More than 50 passengers have narrowly escaped danger after the bus they were travelling burst into flames in Gilgil along Nakuru- Nairobi highway.
The passengers of the ill-fated Greenline Bus lost all their personal belongings in the 3am accident.
Police on patrol reacted quickly to rescue the visibly shaken passengers from the burning bus. One passenger, Edna Nafula told the press that their journey was smooth until they had a tire burst when they got to Gilgil town.
‘’ The driver parked the bus at the roadside to change the tire but some smoke would be seen from the engine before it erupted and completely burnt down the entire luggage’’ she added.
The accident was confirmed by the Gilgil OCPD Emmanuel Opuru who added that mechanical fault could be the cause of the accident.
No life was lost during the accident but majority of the passengers lost their belongings to the fire.
