Julius Gitau, popularly known as Gitau wa Mali, the Thika millionaire businessman who resurfaced last weekend after missing since September 21 says has narrated his abduction ordeal saying he was held inside “a big building with a hall.”
Speaking to journalists, Gitau said for the whole time he was missing he was working as a slave for his abductors. “I was made to wash clothes and utensils for the tenants. Once in a while, I was ordered to clean the compound.”
While he couldn’t pinpoint the location he was held. He says he knows the area was in Kamwangi in Gatundu North constituency, Kiambu County.
Gitau says he was frogmarched from the building he was held in on Saturday at 4am, and handed over to two burly men, “We walked for hours before entering a forest. The men then told me to continue walking and never look back.”
Gitau says he walked until he found a dusty road with foot traffic. “I was lucky because a boda boda appeared almost immediately.” He talked the rider into using his phone to call a family member.
He called his wife Selina before the rider then gave him some money for bus fare from Kamwangi to Thika town. He went straight to the house he shared with Selina.
Later, he recorded a statement with the DCI.
The millionaire was abducted by unknown people 11 weeks ago near Kenya Revenue Authority offices in Thika town while on his way to the gym.
