Azimio acquires new propaganda machine as elections draw closer

The Azimio la Umoja executive director Mr Raphael Tuju is now claiming that that President Uhuru Kenyatta had promised to hand over power to his deputy Dr. William Ruto in a deal that botched.

Tuju who talked to Inooro Tv on Wednesday was recently accused of spreading lies that President Uhuru Kenyatta paid DP Ruto to back him in 2013 and 2017 elections which he won against ODM’s Raila Odinga.

Many voters trashed Tuju’s allegations as blatant lies and fabrications because Ruto aided Kenyatta’s political career from 2002 when the outgoing debuted in presidential politics.

“The money he was given was just the deposit. He was to be given cabinet slots and Uhuru agreed to hand over power to him after the end of his second term,” Tuju said.

Tuju who has failed to play a significant role in Odinga’s campaign team is now the coalition’s propaganda machine specifically being used to tarnish DP’s image.

While alleging that money exchanged hands before Ruto supported Kenyatta in 2013 and 2017 polls’, the former Rarieda law maker also lied that Ruto controlled half of the Jubilee government with appointments in the cabinet and parastatals.

He went to accused the Deputy President of using the parliamentary leadership to outwit President Kenyatta when Hon. Aden Duale was the National Assembly majority leader and Kikuyu MP Hon. Kimani Ichungwah was the  Budget and Appropriations Committee chairmen.

The former Jubilee Party SG was struggling to support President Kenyatta’s move to betray Dr. Ruto and back his long time bitter rival Raila Odinga for presidency in the forthcoming elections.

Though Uhuru is supporting Odinga’s run he has completely avoided to invite him and campaign for him in his Mt. Kenya backyard when Ruto enjoys the support of the majority.

“It was better to work with an honest Raila who would be ready to work with him without demanding anything in his government and support him in parliament, instead of a Ruto who at every possible corner, he blackmailed the president. He used the speakers, he used Duale, he used Ichungwah,” Tuju said.
