Bodies of 2 brothers arrested by Police found in a Morgue

Two brothers who were reported to have been nabbed by police officers past curfew hours in Embu have died and their remains dumped at Embu mortuary.

Benson Njiru Ndwiga ,22, and his brother Emmanuel Mutura Ndwiga,19, who have been missing since Sunday last week were found lying in Embu mortuary. According to the family, the two were allegedly arrested by officers from Manyatta police station Kianjokoma shopping centre.

Benson Njiru was a student at Kabarak University while his brother Emmanuel Mutura was a student in Don Bosco Technology Training Institute Karen in Nairobi.

The two brothers have been running pork business in the said shopping centre in Embu East sub- county in Embu county.

Their parents, John Ndwiga Kamunyuti and Catherine Wawira are now accusing the officers of murdering their kids and are now hiding the information.

However, Embu East OCPD Emily Garuiya has denied the claims saying that the boys might have jumped out of a moving police vehicle.

Garuiya says they have already opened an inquiry file to investigate more about the death of the said boys with the bodies now awaiting postmortem.

Last month, a man who died in a Pangani Police Station cell could have undergone a painful experience according to his family.

“His clothes were soaked in water, bruises on his body oozing blood mostly around his head. From our deep observation, he suffered a fracture on his leg and his hands appeared to have been tied,” his brother Isaac Ngotho claimed

Mureithi who was a charcoal dealer on Desai Road in Ngara, Nairobi, and father of three was arrested around 7pm on Thursday over what police claimed was breaking the Covid-19 social distancing rules. Robert Mureithi, 30, died on Sunday morning in unclear circumstances.
