Outspoken criminal lawyer Cliff Ombeta has advised Kenyans not to accept apprehension when stopped by unidentified persons in the streets.
Through a social media post on Monday, 22 November 2021, the flashy legal expert claimed that it has become difficult to differentiate between genuine police officers and dangerous thugs camouflaged in sleek Subaru SUVs.
He, therefore, warned citizens that should they encounter such a situation, the best thing to do is to scream and call for help because it could be a possible abduction.
“Listen carefully, if a Subaru blocks you and they try to arrest you, as long as they are not in official outfits or have not identified themselves, resist, fight, scream and call for help,” he wrote.

Ombeta spoke in reaction to the recent controversial disappearance of an alleged Ethiopian businessman whom he represents.
The whereabouts of Samson Tekklemichael who was picked up in Nairobi’s Kileleshwa area on Friday still remain unclear.
A viral video that captured the incident showed a traffic policeman stopping a Bentley in the middle of the road before the occupant of the vehicle is picked up by two men and bundled into another vehicle.
In another video, Tekklemichael’s wife, Milen Mezgebo, said that her husband called and told her that unknown people had kidnapped him.
The men who took away the businessman left his car in the middle of the road after the dramatic scene.
On Monday, some of Tekklemichael’s friends in the political circles piled more pressure on the Kenyan police to produce the businessman who claims to be in the oil and gas business.
Through social media, MPs like Babu Owino claimed that police were planning to kill Samson.
He also shared an image showing the registration details of the Subaru that was used to take the Ethiopian away.
