A man who was sexualy molesting a minor and later shaved his dreadlocks to evade police has been arrested and detained at Mathare Police Depot.
DCI Boss George Kinoti said intelligence drawn from forensic analysis led detectives to a social media platform where the suspect, Marcos Menza alias Vasco, befriended and lured the minor to his house.
DCI boss has warned parents against ignoring sites their children visit in the internet.
“…especially during this Covid-19 period where kids are being issued with electronic gadgets to attend online classes,” he added.
Kinoti gave a stern warning to pedophiles taking advantage of children and abusing their rights by exposing them to sex and obscene and indecent content that is by law unsuitable for their exposure.
The 13-year-old girl that Menza has been abusing is a class eight pupil who went missing on October 11 and was found on October 17.
She disappeared a day before she could travel back to Kisumu to resume school.
DCI detectives working in collaboration with Nairobi Region detectives traced the victim to the home.
