Global logistics firm boss Andrew Mutuma is staring at an arrest any time after disobeying the court in a child custody case.

The corrupt slave-driver of employees is said to have abducted his child in 2019 and stayed with him for weeks before the court stepped in and returned the minor to the mother, Faith.

The court case that has been going on for more than 10 years has seen Mutuma seek custody of the child from 2017.

On August 11th 2020, the minor went to visit her dad as agreed by court that Mutuma is allowed to see the kid over the weekends, however, the child hasn’t been allowed to see her mother.

She communicated on the night of 11th August 2020 via text that she had had the worst night because her father and stepmother, Liz Ntonjira, had a physical fight and that she wanted to see her mother.

On 27th August 2020, she texted her mother and informed her that the father would be keeping her for a very long time and she didn’t know when she would be allowed to return to the mother. The longest time the child has stayed away from her mother has been 2 weeks. The child has been held captive by her father for 16 weeks.

On 13th November 2020, the mother went to the children’s court to seek intervention to have the child restored to her. Orders were granted that the child be returned to the mother and that the OCS from Muthangari Police Station assist in effecting the court order.

Dirty tactics

On Monday 16th November 2020, the mother went for assistance from Muthangari Police station and was provided three police officers (2 males and one female). Just before they left the police station, Mutuma drove in and went in for a meeting with the deputy OCS. After a few minutes they came out laughing and the police that had been ordered to assist with the recovery of the child were withdrawn.

When the mother sort to understand what had just happened, the police walked away.

On Tuesday 17th November 2020, the mother went to Muthangari Police station again to seek assistance and was given different police officers. They drove to the father’s home as the mother waited patiently outside the gate. After an hour they emerged yet again with Mutuma and without the child sighting challenges since Mutuma is a firearm holder. They seemed afraid of provoking him.

The mother finally returned to court for justice after the police were unable to effect the court order and new orders were granted on Thursday 26th November 2020 for:-

1) The OSC to appear in court to explain why he was unable to assist in effecting the court order.

2) That the father bring the child to court or face arrest without further notice to him.

Andrew Mutuma was married to Faith for 10 years.

She left after constant abuse and even reported to Muthangari Police station after several violent attacks towards her.

Mutuma is married to Lizz Ntonjira.

The Country Manager of DHL Kenya has now been ordered to bring the child to the children’s court on Tuesday 1st December 2020 or face arrest.
