Blame games rocks the ruling Jubilee party following their humiliating losses in the just concluded by-elections held on Tuesday May 18, 2021.

Led by the National assembly majority chief whip Maoka Maore who has launched fresh attacks on President Uhuru Kenyatta blaming him for the recent losses the party recorded.

The Igembe North legislator blamed the head of state for favoring civil servants over politicians in spearheading campaign teams and conducting official party businesses.

While talking to the Daily Nation today, Maore noted that the head of state had no time for politicians which is very detrimental to the ruling party.

He added that it was the politicians who are in constant touch with the common folks and understands better their plight and what they consequently want.

“Politicians understand the feelings of ordinary people. The defeat of Jubilee in Bonchari, where civil servants and a top Cabinet Secretary were at the centre of the operations, sums everything up,” Maore stated, adding that President Kenyatta prefers the company of civil servants even while launching projects in the country.

Maore continued that the President Uhuru-led party should learn from the mistakes of the just lost mini polls and avoid a repeat of the same in the upcoming Kiambaa and Muguga by-elections.

The ruling party has only won one by-election out of six in the Mt. Kenya region, raising a lot of concern on its popularity in the region.

Nyeri Town Member of Parliament Ngunjiri Wambugu on the contrary blamed the losses on the divisions within the party.

“We mismanaged the campaigns right from the nominations. Our competitors were smart enough to take advantage of our mistakes. It is also important to note that Jubilee split into factions. These divisions affected our performance,” Ngunjiri said.

“The outcomes are being addressed by the party leader himself,” he added. while noting that President Uhuru will be more involved in party matters moving forward.
