Former President Daniel Moi’s grandson
Collins Toroitich has been dragged into a court case after his former wife
sought legal redress for neglecting his parental obligations.
Information from the court papers indicates that Collins got married to Gladys Jeruto Tagi a Baringo-based politician back in 2008, and the two sired two children, a boy, and a girl together.
They then later separated after four years with Tagi now taking to courts accusing Collins a well-off businessman for failing to take any responsibility for the two children.
“I am
currently unable to provide for the children alone as the needs are so many and
would need to be assisted,” she stated.
She further stated that attempts to reach Collins on phone had borne no fruits as he had blocked her on all numbers.
Collins is a son
to the late President Moi’s eldest and deceased son Jonathan Toroitich Moi who
passed in 2019.
The Mois are not new to controversy and Collins, in particular, is facing it for a subsequent time having been accused of stealing his daughter’s phone costing 19,000 at a party in Nakuru in 2016.
The cases were later withdrawn from the courts after the two, later on, agreed on an out-of-court settlement.
This comes years after Philip Moi, one of President Moi’s sons had been taken to court by ex-wife Rossana Pluda seeking Ksh. 1.8 Million alimony after divorce for failing to provide for their two children.
