Drama ensued at State House, Nairobi when an angry President Uhuru Kenyatta chased away Jubilee party officials who went there to explain the humiliating losses suffered by the ruling party in the just concluded Bonchari, Juja and Rurii by-elections.
The Standard reported that the Head of State was particularly angry with the result of the Juja parliamentary by-election where Jubilee party candidate Susan Njeri was trounced by Moses Kuria’s George Koimburi.
George Koimburi who vied on People’s Empowerment Party (PEP) was declared the new Juja Constituency Member of Parliament after trouncing Jubilee’s Susan Njeri Waititu.
The Head of State was also not impressed by the loss that the Jubilee party suffered in Rurii where its candidate Peter Thunji was humiliated by UDA’s Francis Muraya.
The Standard quoted a well-placed source explaining that “He chased everyone away at State House. He ordered them to leave and go home as they had not provided enough explanation as to why they lost the by-elections.
“The President argued that the officials should have done enough research and homework before pushing Jubilee to contest in the elections”. the source close to the State House stated.

Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju and Vice Chairman David Murathe also bore the brunt of Uhuru’s wrath after the head of state called them in a heated phone call blaming them for the losses including in Bonchari where ODM’s Pavel Oimeke beat Jubilee’s Zebedeo Opore.
“He was unhappy and blamed Murathe, Tuju, his advisers and government administrators for the loss, telling them that he never wanted to see them in the next coming days.
“The President couldn’t understand why Murathe and Tuju kept claiming that they were rigged out yet the election was done publicly, same as the vote tallying,” the sources alleged.
