G4S Exposed

Over the years G4S security has been making news for all the wrong reasons. The company which boasts of specializing in sectors where security and safety risks are considered a strategic threat has lost billions of Kenya Shillings they were supposed to safeguard.

Now, the security firm is back making news and this time it’s for possibly endangering the lives of Kenyans by exposing them to the novel coronavirus.

The government recently issued a cessation of movement order over rising cases of the coronavirus in Eastleigh, a source told KenyaBulletin that a staff member at Equity Bank Eastleigh branch had tested positive for Covid-19. Due to this, all the staff members at the bank including cleaners were forced into 14 days self-quarantine at home.

However, G4S which is responsible for the security at the bank has, instead of sending their guards on mandatory quarantine, transferred them to other work stations. “One of the guards is currently working at Equity bank, Gikomba branch.”

This is even as The Ministry of Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe continues warning against the violation of government guidelines that are set to safeguard the health of Kenyans, “Kenyans MUST treat this matter with the seriousness it deserves, by adjusting and changing their lifestyles. If we continue to behave normally, this disease will treat us abnormally,” the CS states.
