Here Is How DSTV Kenya Is Taking Advantage Of Coronavirus To Rip You Off

Multichoice Kenya’s Digital Satellite Television (DStv) has developed a rip off scheme that infringes on customers’ rights while using the global pandemic Coronavirus (COVID-19) to avoid consequences.

Multiple reports rock their customer care social media pages as dozens of customers who have been overcharged lament over the articulate move by the firm which involves upgrading customers to a higher-priced package without their consent or an option to opt-out.

DStv then sends the customers’ text messages claiming the additional funds for the packages, Customers who pay in advance get automatically deducted and with no customer care services being offered due to the coronavirus, there is no chance for a refund.

“Recently I topped up my account by double my required package limit of Sh2,500 to easy my bills in may while anticipating hard economic times.” A distraught customer complains. “Now I have been deducted almost the entire amount by being upgraded to the next higher package without consenting or applying for it.”

Now with the excuse of COVID-19, their customer care cannot be reached.

He is not the only customer who is paying for packages they didn’t consent to,

“Next time you upgrade me without my consent, be ready to pay the extra fee. I know why I chose that package. You guys take people for a ride.” John Ochieng writes on Twitter.
