The life of the wife to the former Prime Minister mama Ida Odinga is now at stake after her first personal guard was shot dead in Kisumu.
The senior editor of this site has been informed that the guard, Barrack Jeraha might have sparked a tussle with a fellow armed officer over a woman.
Before dawn, a State bodyguard attached to Ida Odinga was shot dead in wee hours by unknown assailants in Kisumu.
Reports indicate that Barrack Jaraha was shot dead at his home in Riat, Kisumu West Sub-county at around 5 am.
Nyanza Regional Police boss Karanja Muiruri confirmed the incident, saying a probe is underway to establish the circumstances under which the aide was killed.
The body of the security guard has since been moved to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary as investigations into the incident continue.
