Kenyatta University Releases Phased School Reopening Calendar

Kenyatta University has released a circular with information to all continuing students concerning details of the planned phased school reopening.

The university says the re-opening of the University to complete the Second Semester/Trimester 2019/2020 will take place in two phases.

  1. PHASE ONE

The 1st & 4th Year, Certificate, Diploma, Postgraduate students and all students in the Schools of Architecture, Law, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy Engineering and Technology, and B. Sc. (Food Nutrition & Dietetics).

Reporting Date: 16th October 2020.

ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES IN PHASE ONE

19th – 23rd October: Completion of teaching, CATS, and practical examinations.

26th Oct – 6th November: Examinations for 1st, 4th Undergraduate, Certificate, Diploma, Postgraduate students.

19th Oct – 6th November: Continuing students from the Schools of Architecture, Law, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy Engineering and Technology, and B. Sc. (Food Nutrition & Dietetics) students to continue with learning activities.

Digital School of Virtual and Open Learning (DSVOL) Students

17th & 18th October: CATS for Postgraduate students

19th October: Collection of Examination Cards

21st – 26th October: Examinations for all DSVOL students at their respective DSVOL centers.

 

  1. PHASE TWO

2nd & 3rd   Years Students

Reporting Date: 7th – 8th November

ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES IN PHASE TWO

9th – 13th November: Completion of teaching, CATS, and practical examinations for 2nd and 3rd Years.

16th – 27th November: Examinations for 2nd and 3rd Years and Continuing students from the Schools of Architecture, Law, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy Engineering and Technology and B. Sc. (Food Nutrition & Dietetics)

Continuing Education Programme (CEP) Students

28th – 29th November: Reporting Date

30th November: Collection of Examination of Cards

1st – 3rd December: 2nd Trimester Examination for all CEP students

4th December: Commencement of 3rd Trimester 2019/2020 face-to-face session.

The university has also outlined mandatory requirements that students will have to adhere to as part of the measures to curb the spread of Covid-19 as directed by the University and the Ministry of Health.

All Students will be required to report with at least two (2) reusable/washable face masks and ensure the wearing the same at all times.

Each student will also be required to sign to abide by the Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.
