President Uhuru Kenyatta’s nominee for Ambassador to Juba Maj Gen (Rtd) Samuel Nandwa is among the richest men in the latest list full of old guards.
Nandwa was among the retirees the considered for the diplomatic job with documents showing that he has a networth of Sh105 million.
Uhuru made the nominations on October 14 and all have been vetted by the Members of Parliament.
Nandwa who hails from Busia County served in the military for 40 years, beginning as a cadet in 1978 and rising to the rank of a Major General before he retired in 2018.
Amb Benson Ogutu who is poised to Kenya’s Ambassador to Moscow has a net worth of Sh101 million.
He is followed by Maj Gen (Rtd) Ngewa Ngoloi who is sitting on a Sh100 million.
Ngoloi who served in the military for 38 years will make more money working as the country’s ambassador to Khartoum, Sudan.
Stella Munyi who served as an advocate of the Harare for 28 years is Sh91.7 million rich and will have an opportunity to make more as Kenya’s ambassador in Zimbabwe.
The nominee of the high commissioner to Ottawa, Immaculate Wambua has a net worth of Sh76 million, tying with Ambassador Daniel Waiko Wambura, nominee for Ambassador to Bujumbura.
Wambua previously worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as the head of America’s directorate while Wambura is the current national coordinator, Office of the Great Lakes Region at the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
The nominee to Berlin, Ambassador Thomas Amolo follows with a net worth of Sh68 million and has previously served as the High Commissioner to South Africa and Nigeria.
Amollo is followed by Jean Kamau with a net worth of Sh60 million. Kamua has been in the diplomatic service for more than 35 years.
He will still bag another opportunity to make more as a permanent representative to the UN-Habitat Nairobi.She is currently the director of Europe and the Commonwealth at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Ambassador Martin Kimani who was nominated as a permanent representative to the UN-New York has a net worth of Sh58 million.
