Preston’s Darnell Fisher has been handed a three match ban for grabbing the genitals of Sheffield Wednesday’s Callum Paterson last Wednesday.
The Football Association (FA) on Friday said Fisher has been suspended for it said is misconduct after the player was captured grabbing the groin of Sheffield’s forward Callum Paterson during a Championship game.
Fisher was on Paterson’s genitals as Preston prepared to defend a corner in a game that ended 1-0 in favor of Preston but the incident was not spotted by match officials at the time it happened but later on video.
The defender had denied the charge when he appeared before an independent regulatory commission for breaching Rule E1.
“However, during a subsequent hearing, the independent regulatory commission found that the incident constitutes violent conduct and imposed the automatic suspension with immediate effect,” FA statement read in part.
