Ruto allied MCAs called to the party HQ for questioning

Three Nominated MCAs from Nairobi who are allied to the Deputy President Dr. William Ruto have been summoned to the Jubilee Party Head Quarters for disregarding the party position in many ways.

Ann Thumbi, Silvia Museiya and Millicent Jagero will explain to the Disciplinary Committee their position on the much-contested Nairobi City County Appropriation Bill, 2020 that Governor Mike Sonko.

The three MCAs also enjoy close political ties with the controversial governor.

“You are hereby required to appear on November 27, 2020, at 10:00 a.m when the complaint against you will be heard by this committee at Jubilee party Headquarters in accordance with the Jubilee Party Disciplinary Committee Regulations, 2017,” the letter read.

The letter dated November 24, 2020 purported that  complains had been raised by the Nairobi County Assembly Majority Whip Paul Kados on November 4, 2020.

The three are facing intimidation for disregarding the party position and for actively campaigning, opposing and frustrating the budget estimates for the Financial Year 2020-21.

The ruling party is also accusing the vocal politicians of opposing the party stand both at the National and County levels by openly associating with those opposed Jubilee’s stand on Financial Year 2020-21 budget and Governor’s Memorandum.

But the nominated MCAs have stated that the summonses have nothing to do with their close ties with Sonko or the budget but because they are supporting DP Ruto’s bid to become president in 2022.

The three are always frequenting the DP Ruto’s functions and forums that oppose the BBI report that intends to expand the executive and parliaments.
