The teenager suspected of killing Naivasha girl remanded for 14 more days

The 17 year old charged with killing of a sixteen year old girl in Naivasha will spend 14 more nights in police custody as he waits courts hearing on his bail application.
The accused who denied killing Valerian Njeri on in Mirera area of Naivasha is a form two student of Nanyuki High School. He denied the charges before High Court Judge Richard Mwongo.
The deceased’s mother broke down in tears as police officer removed handcuffs from the suspect’s hands before charges were read.
Advocate Mburu stated that the accused had been through age and mental assessments and was now waiting for the bail report. While pleading for lenient bails terms, Mburu mentioned that aggrieved parents were close friends.
He also pleaded with the court to determine bond terms before schools resume since the accused should be joining form four next year.
According to directions of Justice Mwongo, the accused will be held at Naivasha Police Station until January 31 when he will rule on the bail application.
