TSC exits 36 teachers over professional misconduct

In gazzette notice dated october 4th 2019, The Teacher Service Commission’s CEO Nancy Macharia sacked and deregistered 36 teachers over what she termed as gross professional misconduct. Just last month TSC sacked 42 teacher for failing to attend competency-based curiculum trainings in April and for disrupting those trainings in many centres across the country.

Section 30(1) (e) of TSC Act empowers Ms Macharia to sack teachers. In a statement, she also added that 124 teacher are suspended and 30 others have recieved warning letters over similar offences and interdiction of 17 others has been lifted.
