Since the advent of the Jubilee regime, the gross cumulative productivity of the country has diminished as those with ideas and strategy to execute them, were deliberately pushed away from thriving enterprises, replaced instead by clowns whose only claim to fame is praise-singing and worshipping the political class.
From the back of my mind, I can come up with a million examples of this deliberate suppression of merit, but I’ll concentrate on Sport Pesa, Keroche Industries, Nakumatt and Humphrey Kariuki’s African Wines, & Spirits as examples.
From the day he got into office, President Uhuru Kenyatta sought to destroy these companies and he uses a familiar strategy where he first uses the pliable media to wage a hate campaign, by first dehumanizing the directors of these companies as a “sub-human” lower life form, which would justify destroying their businesses.
For Sport Pesa, blogger & cyber-bully Robert Alai was paid by Uhuru to run a wide narrative against betting as a vice, but the narrative was a red-herring whose only objective was to raid Sport Pesa, deny them an operational license and allow competitors to eat into their market share.
For Humphrey Kariuki’s African Wine’s & Spirits and Tabitha Karanja of Keroche Breweries, the Kenyatta family were purely jealous of their success and wanted to forcefully takeover their businesses by craftily baiting tax and criminal issues, and waging a hate campaign against “illicit” brews. Uhuru invited all MP’s to Statehouse and equipped them with tools to illegally raid tax-paying businesses and destroy their stocks and machinery.
Former Kiambu Governor who himself is a thief of epic proportions and thrives in suppressing business for extortion purposes, was perhaps the most thrilled by this prospect as he hid behind Uhuru’s ambition to kill empowered members of the Kikuyu community, to raid companies, liquor stores and bars, hauling tonnes of product to a dump-site and setting it ablaze.
Humphrey Kariuki was perhaps the thorn in the flesh of Uhuru, whose phenomenal success was giving the head of state sleepless nights. From acquiring the Mount Kenya Safari Club, Kariuki’s empire stretches far and wide, and his Dalbit company has a massive regional footprint serving airports in Congo, Zambia, and the likes.
But jealousy could not let Uhuru eat well and you can easily tell that when all these companies died, is when he started gaining weight.
Nakumatt’s fall begun with sponsored media narratives that it was linked to money-laundering together with mysterious businessman Harun Mwau. The failing media didn’t bother to even quantify the number of workers employed by the company, the opportunities it created for entrepreneurs and farmers, neither did they care to verify its contribution to the exchequer. Media simply bought Uhuru’s lies hook, line and sinker.
To aid in his rabid narcissism, Uhuru has surrounded himself with praise singers who are clueless on enterprise building, those who have no skills in wealth creation but their only claim to fame is bootlicking their way into jobs and opportunities. You only need to go to Twitter and see who are the ones suppressing independent discourse by spreading sterile narratives, the likes of ODM bloggers Robert Alai, Dikembe Disembe and Abraham Mutai. Not to mention their handlers Junet Muhammad, Aden Duale, Njeri Thorne and Mutahi Ngunyi.
The Ayatollah of the Suna East Caliphate Junet Muhammed together with his fellow Somali compatriot Aden Duale, bribed bloggers and journalists to run an anti-bar, anti-alcohol and pro-curfew agenda, governance models which are concurrent with Shariah Law. It may sound far-fetched but this is what happens in countries like Saudi Arabia and UAE.
For instance, the Garissa Township MP Aden Duale, wants it made illegal to possess or publish pornography, in any computer system or data storage device. Duale also wants the government, through the National Computer and Cybercrimes Coordination Committee, to block access to porn websites by persons within Kenya.
If approved, persons found in possession of pornographic material in their phones or computer devices or publishes the same on the internet — social media platforms — will face a Sh20 million fine or 20 years in jail.
Those who’ve been to the Middle East know very well that even WhatsApp calls are blocked over and above access to porn being limited. And Aden Duale wants to turn Kenya into a Somali caliphate where alcohol, bars are demonized by three bloggers (Robert Alai, Dikembe Disembe and Abraham Mutai), but with a broader agenda of turning everyone into a Muslim.
Junet Mohammed and Aden Duale had earlier bribed President Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto through a caucus of wealthy Somali investors, in-order to implement “Alcoblow” blocking access to all roads into the Nairobi Central Business District (CBD) and starving bars, nightclubs and casinos business. Today, ALL bars, nightclubs and casino’s have since died, and have been replaced by Somali restaurants. In the process, over 100,000 jobs have been lost.
The journalists who promoted the Alcoblow agenda to its bitter end include Saddique Shaaban, Evelyn Wambui and Emmanuel Juma, all assumed to be inclined through religious belief and/or bribed by Junet Mohammed and Aden Duale. On their part, counterfeit intellectuals Robert Alai, Dikembe Disembe and Abraham Mutai have subtly expressed Islamic sentiment, and beyond the financial motivation, share in the belief that Kenya should be an Islamic state.
Master of double-speak and grandfather of corruption in the country William Ruto is very aware of these ambitions and covertly supports them despite publicly professing to be a Christian. The Governance model which Shariah Law propagates enables dictatorship and autocracies which is why Middle Eastern states are headed by dynasties. Ruto would love to wield such power and deprive Kenyans their spaces to be mentally enlightened and bars are viewed as spaces for soft dissent.
The fight against alcohol, betting, blocking of porn and WhatsApp calls as envisioned by Junet Mohammed & Aden Duale is largely geared into making Kenya a Shariah Law caliphate, where those things are viewed by sanctimonious, self-righteous governments as “haram”.
But when you look at Somali’s in Kenya, what do they own? Are they manufacturers or massive job creators to be able to pack that amount of heat and influence policy which would effectively turn Kenya into a Sharia state? They are only good in mastering trade routes and dumpling imports in the country.
Shouldn’t we be thinking of turning their massive land holdings in Northern Kenya into arable farming lands, like the Israeli’s have turned desert land into booming farmlands? Shouldn’t we be talking about Kenya being a top beef exporter and camel milk manufacturer? Why are a few businessmen in the fields of transport and imports influencing Kenya to be a Shariah state through Junet Mohammed and Aden Duale?
