What is coming ahead will sweep you off your feet! Tiaty MP William Kamket sends stern warning to DP Ruto

Tiaty Member of Parliament (MP) William Kamket on Monday tore into Deputy President William Ruto over the simmering debate on the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report.

Speaking at Chesotim in Tirioko ward, Tiaty Subcounty, Kamket said the real BBI tsunami is in the offing and told the DP and his Tanga Tanga political faction to prepare for a humiliating defeat.

“I am hearing the likes of Senator Murkomen telling Wananchi that they never saw the Tsunami in the BBI report. I want to tell him that he is not aware of what is coming ahead and it will also sweep him off his feet” said Kamket.

The MP castigated the DP and his allies for indirectly opposing the BBI report.

He added that the BBI recommendations should be addressed through the popular initiative and not through the National Assembly as being advocated by Ruto-allied leaders.

“This is a matter which involves amendments in the Constitution and it should not be decided by a few individuals since it is a matter which affects all Kenyans. So we are proposing for it to go back to Wananchi” he said.

The KANU MP, who is an ardent supporter of Baringo Senator Gideon Moi, also claimed that majority of leaders supporting the DP are politically dead and won’t retain any political seat in future.

He told the DP that he is no a threat in his presidential bid and that majority of his allies will be defeated come 2022.

“You are nothing but a paper tiger and you need to know that 95% of those MPs will not retain their seats in 2022,” he told the DP.

The MP despite acknowledging that the BBI report was complete said the document needs to be amended in some areas to make it better.

According to Kamket, the position of the Prime Minister should be given more powers.

The remarks by the legislator come at a time when leaders allied to DP Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga are locking horns over which way to go in implementing the constitution.

Ruto and his allies are advocating for a parliamentary system to amend the constitution in a the bid to incorporate the recommendations of the BBI task force.

On the other hand, Raila and his team are pushing for a referendum to make the recommendations effective.
