BBI big wigs and drummers are convening in Narok County to drum support for the report that is not officially out. ODM chief Raila Odinga is attending the event where leaders from the seven Maa Counties have represented their resolutions through Kajiado Governor Joseph Ole Lenku.
Building Bridges Initiative is trying to unite the country but causing major cracks at the same time. Some are swept below the carpet for political reasons and some people have been branded opponents of the document and not allowed to hold similar rallies.
ODM insists BBI reggae will play in Narok
Tanga faction of the Jubilee Party is led by DP Dr. William Ruto, other than their body language and being accused of opposing BBI and they are not receiving ‘a brotherly’ treatment because of that.
The fact that BBI rallies are convened regionally is giving governors an upper hand to push their hidden motives. In Narok the governor and the deputy are not reading from the same script. Governor Tanui is from the Maasai community is supporting BBI but his deputy is from the Kipsigis community allied to the Dp Ruto.
That is the reason she is missing in the event in her county led by the government she serves in. In a meeting that the Narok leaders had before this event, Hon Johanna Ngeno and the DG Evalyn Aruasa walked out of that meeting alleging that it was conducted in Maasai dialect that they neither speak nor understand.
Narok edition is the fifth and it has maintained its regional face with conveners and drummers not caring to extend and an olive branch to the Tanga Tanga politicians to unite the country like they claim.
In the resolution the dominant Maasai community did not care to seal or address such minor rifts between them and other communities that reside in the region that expands to 7 counties.
The venue of the event, Narok Stadium has been from today, renamed Ole Ntimama Studium, in memory of the late Cabinet Minister William Ole Ntimama who hailed from the Maasai Community.
This is happening when the daughter of the late veteran politician is being accused of saying that all top seats in Narok should go to the Maa community including the governor and the deputy governor positions.
In the resolutions read by Governor Lenku were simple and straight on addressing the Mau issue and the politics, he stated that the expansive Mau Forest belongs to the Maa Community and it must be protected and preserved.
Will Raila fall to Mau political bait for the second time?
They also demanded for a fair distribution and use of land as they requested for their culture which they treat as a resource that must also be respected and persevered. The Maa community are not soft on disarmament programs by the government which they claiming is not fully disarming some of the region’s warring communities with firearms.
BBI rallies are organized and hosted by regional governors, a deaf ear to matters security which is a responsibility of the national government that is never represented in the rallies. It remains a platform for its proponents to play politics, embarrass and mistreat their political opponents who join in.
Organizing governors don’t beyond boundaries of regional counties to national boundaries because they want away to sneak back to power, creating a new tier government. This is a disservice to a document that aims to unite Kenyans but the conveners are thinking of diving Kenyans further.

Absence of governors allied to the DP Ruto from these rallies can only leave one guessing how thing will turn when these rallies are hosted at venues near them. The cracks in the bridge will reveal.
