Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja has blasted his counterparts for presenting Governor Mike Sonko in his ongoing corruption cases.
In an interview with a local fm station Sakaja said the senators have forgotten that they are the custodians of the devolution.
He saidthat senators Kipchumba Murkomen (Elgeyo Marakwet) and Mutula Kilonzo Jr (Makueni) agreeing to represent Sonko means that they were siding with corrupt leaders who are undermining devolution.
Murkomen and Mutula are part of Sonko’s high profile defense team that is seeking to free him off Sh357 million corruption claims leveled against him by the DPP Noordin Haji.
Sakaja also said it is absurd that both Murkomen and Mutula will still appear in the senate after defending the accused persons who are alleged to undermine devolution. That will be a complete show impartiality.
Many graft cases have been reported before in Nairobi county that may have links to Sonko and therefore he has no choice but to go through the due court process.
