Barely two weeks after his wife died of Covid-19 complications, Former Changamwe MP Ramadhan Kajembe has passed on at Pandya Hospital.
Kajembe, who was ailing during his wife’s burial, was not able to attend the ceremony as he was on oxygen supply.
According to the Star, some of his close relatives had been admitted at the same facility over a week ago, after the wife succumbed.
Kajembe succumbed to COVID-19 complications after spending one week at the hospital. The former legislator has died aged 76.
Leaders from the coastal region led by Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho have expressed their condolences on popular social media platforms.
It is with profound sadness and sorrow that we receive the news of the demise of one of our leaders, father and friend Hon. Ramadhan Seif Kajembe. Mombasa mourns the loss of a great son who was known for his generosity.

Kajembe served as Changamwe MP between 2007 and 2013 on an ODM Party ticket.
Sources have confirmed he will be buried at 7 pm at the Kajembe family cemetery in Changamwe. That is where his second wife, Mama Aziza Kajembe was also buried two weeks ago.
