Sheila Jepkorir Chebii reportedly travelled to Sydney on April 5, 2026, hopeful of starting a new chapter in her life and supporting her family back home. Friends described her as hardworking, ambitious, and determined to succeed abroad.
Tragedy struck on May 17, barely a month after she arrived in Australia. News of her sudden death shocked many Kenyans both at home and abroad, with emotional tributes pouring in across social media platforms.
Sheila Jepkorir Chebii, originally from Kimumu in Eldoret, her story has touched many young Kenyans pursuing opportunities overseas. By the time of publication, her family had not publicly disclosed the cause of death.
