Four members of parliament have travelled to the United States to observe elections where President Donald Trump is struggling to defend his seat against the former Vice President Joe Biden.
The Mps include Rarieda’s Otiende Amollo, Jeremiah Kioni (Ndaragwa), Abdi Shurie (Balambala) and Kisumu Senator Fred Outa.
The lawmakers will be in the US for close to a week.
Hon. Otiende Amollo who is a strong supporter of the BBI failed to attend the Naivasha seminar where his colleagues are fine tuning the recommendations of the report.
National Assembly Clerk Michael Sialai claimed the Mps will join the delegation of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission that is also travelling to observe the US elections.
“They have been officially invited along with the IEBC to observe the US elections,” he said.
The elections scheduled for Tuesday 3rd are expected to close on November 4.
The hotly contested elections have seen the incumbent. Donald Trump, complaining the voting by mail sparkling fears that he may not accept the results.
Pollsters are showing that the Democratic candidate Biden taking a commanding national lead over Trump who has campaigns lined up in key swing states that stand to decide the race.
A candidates needs at least 270 state Electoral College votes to win the presidency with the focus being on Florida, North Carolina, and Arizona.
Trump is trailing Biden in States that helped him beat Hillary Clinton in 2016 including Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
The 2020 US elections have been around the management of covid-19, economy and massive job losses as a result of the coronvirus pandemic.
US has recorded more than nine million cases with over 230,000 deaths but Trump has claimed that the figure as cooked and Democrats are using them as a political currency to get him out of the White House.
