MP Moha Jicho Shares Near Death Experience During Campaigns

Nyali Member of Parliament, Mohamed Ali, narrated how he faced a deadly and uphill task searching for Kenya Kwanza votes in the wider Mombasa County.

Speaking on Thursday, October 3, during the official opening of the Mombasa International ASK Show, Ali was elated by the efforts of his team bearing visible fruits seen through the election of William Ruto as President.

“This is where I was almost lynched looking for Kenya Kwanza votes. Some people were always on our backs some were state officials, but they forgot that decisions are made by the people

“This is my second term as governor but during the first term, I did not get a chance to address people on any platform because I wasn’t given a chance. We have forgiven them, and we now ask that we all unite and deliver on the promises inside the Plan, which is the Kenya Kwanza manifesto,” he said.

Ali also thanked the government for reverting the Mombasa Port operations to the coastal city, insisting that it would bring great economic freedom to the residents.

“I am happy to stand here today as the only member of the government faction within Mombasa County

“When we were traversing the country Mombasa and the rest of Kenya, we used to assure people that freedom was coming, and indeed it is here with us,” he added.

Previously an independent candidate, Jicho Pevu retained his seat on a UDA ticket.

Ali managed to create a strong rapport with his constituents despite Azimio La Umoja maintaining dominance in the region.
