A week after worrying reports that a Form 1 student was sodomized at St Aquinas High School, a witness has exclusively opened up regarding the scathing allegations facing the learning institution located in Makadara Constituency, Nairobi.
Speaking anonymously to kenyanbulletin.com, a teacher whose name we shall not reveal for obvious reasons, not only confirmed the sexual abuse allegations but also lifted the lid on a myriad of other evils perpetrated under the watch of the school’s administration.
According to our source, before the sodomy case, another scandal rocked the school in 2021 after the Deputy Principal identified as one “Mr Thumbi” reportedly hit a Form 2 student, badly injuring his groin area.
To add salt to injury, St Aquinas High School Principal Mr Gathii Stephen Kamau is said to have liaised with other junior members of his staff to effectively cover up the matter by deleting CCTV footage of the incident and illegally threatening the student’s parents into silence.
When the young boy was rushed to Metropolitan Hospital in Buruburu, Mr Kamau allegedly compromised medics into writing fake examination results.
It was after his parents transferred him to the Mama Lucy Hospital that a proper scan of the injured area showed he suffered a swollen scrotum.
“Please hide my identity because I am a witness in the ongoing case which are set to be taken to court.
I am a teacher at St Aquinas High School and I want to confirm the evils being mentioned in that school.
Apart from the Sodomy case being mentioned right now, there was an incident last year in which the deputy principal Mr Thumbi hit a Form 2 boy and injured his testicles.
The principal covered up the matter and the boy’s parents were threatened to keep silent,” the message sent to our news desk reads in part.
Bipolar boarding master
On top of this mess, Chief Principal Mr Gathii Kamau has also been exposed for protecting a rogue tutor who serves as the school’s Boarding Master.
The teacher rumoured to suffer from Bipolar disorder left students in utter shock back in September 2021 after he was involved in a brutal fistfight with a fellow colleague.
It took the efforts of a lady teacher to stop the physical duel from escalating into a much worse situation.
Following this incident, Mr Kamau is said to have colluded with top officials at the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and helped the boarding master evade the full force of the law.
Instead, he was only transferred from Nairobi to Bungoma.
This, the parents felt was a slap in the face considering the magnitude of the crime committed.
“The boarding master is a bipolar case and in September last year, he wanted to fight a fellow teacher and there is another female colleague who salvaged the situation.
The principal overprotected this mad boarding master and when the aggrieved teacher reported the case, the principal colluded with rogue officials in TSC to have this teacher transferred to Bungoma as a punishment.
A school of that kind where the boarding master is bipolar is truly unsafe for students.
Teachers feel insecure as well.
They are afraid of raising any complaints because they risk being transferred to Mandera or any other malicious evils.
Spread it out hadi ifike kwa TSC na Magoha,” the source adds.
Last week, the parent of a young boy who was reportedly sodomized at the school disclosed that when they stormed the school in search of answers on Tuesday, 8th February 2022, Chief Principal Mr Gathii Stephen Kamau told them off saying their claims were baseless and aimed at destroying the school’s reputation.

When the mother, accompanied by friends, stood her ground and refused to bow down to his demands, the Principal rang the police and instigated their arrest.
The incident is said to have inflicted the family with a heavy financial and emotional burden since the affected victim is now suicidal.
