Here is the police report on the bandits as forwarded to this writer.

DATE: 04/01/2022SUBJECT: MURDER/ ARSON INCIDENT REPORT.
IT WAS REPORTED BY AREA CHIEF MR JAMAL KEA THAT YESTERDAY 3/1/2022 AT AROUND 2200HRS, WITHIN BOBO SONKYA VILLAGE,ABOUT 20KM NORTH OF THE STATION, THERE WERE BANDITS WHO WERE TERRORISING PEOPLE BY TORCHING THEIR HOUSES. A TEAM FROM HINDI POLICE STATION LEAD BY OCS RESPONDED IMMEDIATELY WHERE THEY FOUND THE GROUND TO BE VERY HOSTILE AS THERE WERE GUN SHOTS EMANATING FROM THE DIRECTION OF THE BANDITS. REINFORCEMENT WAS IMMEDIATELY SOUGHT FROM GSU MOKOWE AND SOG LAPSSET AS OFFICERS ON GROUND ENGAGED THE ATTACKERS WAITING FOR REINFORCEMENT TO ARRIVE. WHEN ALL REINFORCEMENT RESPONDED ON TIME, OFFICERS ADVANCED ON FOOT PATROL TO THE PLACE OF INCIDENT WHERE THEY WERE ABLE TO RESCUE JOSEPH GICHOYA MUNI AGED 31YRS WHO IS ALSO MENTALLY CHALLENGED, KENNEDY MUNGUMISA AGED 45YRS AND DANIEL KIMWELE AGED 64YRS. THERE HOMESTEADS WERE CONFIRMED TO HAVE BEEN TORCHED WITH PROPERTIES OF UNKNOWN VALUE DESTROYED. LATER IT WAS ESTABLISHED THAT MR JOHN MUNJI GICHOYA AGED 52 YEARS HAD BEEN BURNT BEYOND RECOGNITION IN ONE OF THE HOUSES.
