It is reported that eight employees stationed at the DT DOBIE Nairobi Workshop have tested positive of COVID-19.
This comes three days after a workshop technician tested Positive of Corona Virus last Friday the 26th of June.The technician had previously travelled to his rural area in Nyanza for burial before going into self-quarantine for 14 days thereon resuming work.
The management of DT DOBIE sought it fit to only test those in the workshop on the basis of cost-cutting yet the first positive case had mingled with colleagues at the cafeteria not to mention the use of the ablution room and other areas considering he was an extrovert who would frequent the entire office to check out on colleagues.
The Human Resources department without even blinking an eye, sent a memo over the weekend, for all staffers to report to work without fail.
As we speak, of the 45 people tested, 8 are positive.
This is happening while the employees keep mingling with customers and their family members.
“We are tensed and in fear. We hoped the management would close down for 14 days or even fumigate the place”, said one staffer who spoke to Kenyabulletin.com

The Ministry of Health on Monday, June 29, confirmed 120 new cases of Covid-19 in the country, bringing total cases recorded so far to 6,190.
The new cases were recorded from 2,221 samples tested in the last 24 hours. bringing the total samples tested so far to 167,417.
All cases except 5 are Kenyans. 84 of the 120 are male while 36 are female
The ages of the new cases range from 6 years old to 83 years old.
The cases from the counties include; Nairobi (67), Mombasa (17), Kajiado (9), Kilifi (2) and Narok (2).
In Nairobi, Westlands, Langata, Kamukunji, Mathare, Kibra, Embakasi, Ruaraka and Umoja areas have all recorded new cases.
It was announced that 42 patients had been discharged from hospitals, bringing the total number of recoveries to 2,013.
The death toll from Covid-19 in Kenya rose to 144 after 1 more fatality was confirmed.
Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Rashid Aman who delivered the daily briefing noted that Nairobi and Mombasa had the highest infection rates in the country.
