To combat the spread of the novel coronavirus, the government introduced Covid-19 protocols for the public transport sector. The guidelines by Transport CS James Macharia outlined how many passengers Public Service Vehicles would carry.
To comply with these guidelines as well as not make losses, The new Super Metro buses which ply the Thika Road route have introduced a new COVID-19 compliance seat arrangement.
The arrangement as seen below consists of one seat per row, and three rows, the move is aimed at following the social distancing rules while cutting on losses for the carrier buses. Now, instead of losing two seats per 4-seat-row to physical distancing, they now only lose one.
What do you think of this new arrangement? Should other Saccos emulate the idea? leave a comment down below.
