Samuel Tunai

Talengo was the managing director of Ewaso Nyiro’s South Development Authority where he empowered youth and women to initiate agriculture projects. He is also credited with putting up the largest leather factory in the area which currently employed over 600 youth and women. During his tenure at Ensda, he oversaw the construction of 600 water pans and was the man behind the historic ban of plastic bags which attracted huge international acclaim. It is not a secret that the highly respected Sunkuli family in the Maa community has seen Talengo as the only formidable candidate accepted by all clans including Purko, Moitanik, Siria the Uasin Gishu and the Kipsigis from Narok South.

Soipan Kudate Tuya

The youth and women are familiar with Talengo. He has not declared the party to run on next year. Patrick Ntutu , administrative secretary ministry of Labour is also in the race and being a Purko his main worry is the support that Talengo enjoys among the clan. Chances are that Ntutu, Joseph Musoni and women representative Rosalinda Soipan will divide their votes since they both hail from the same clan. Governor Samuel Tunai whose term comes to an end in 2022 was initially supporting Soipan Tuya but is now weighing options on whether to support Talengo.

Ledama Ole Kina

Tunai’s greatest fear is that Talengo is a close associate of Uhuru Kenyatta and he is likely to get deep state machinery support. Being a businessman, Tunai would not want to be thrown under the bus come 2022 general election. Talengo will face it out Tuya who enjoys the support of William Ruto and Patrick Ntutu, Nema chairman John Konchella, Narok senator Ledama ole Kina in a crowded contest to elect the second Narok governor.
